My Mostly Awesome Life
Hi! Welcome to my blog.
I am publishing this blog as a personal history of the mostly awesome parts of my life-- the parts that I would also willingly share with an acquaintance.
So a brief history about me:
I have a great husband! This month (Dec. 2014) will mark our 29th wedding anniversary. He is steady, kind, generous, and pleasant. I am so blessed!! We have 3 children. Two daughters, both married, and a son that passed away as an infant. (Joy and Heartache are both part of an awesome life!) We have one grandchild, a beautiful, happy girl who turned one this summer, Jane. We adore her!
I have 8 siblings: 6 sisters and 2 brothers. I'm kinda in the middle of the 9 children at number 4. It's a sweet spot! My older sisters took all the brunt of the expectations from my parents, and my younger sisters and brothers took all the smothering! I was raised to be independent, yet accountable. (How awesome is that!?!) My parents loved me and all my siblings. They have both passed away. My dad died in 2007, my mom this June (2014) after a brief battle with cancer. I miss them dearly but know they are waiting on the other side of the veil from this life. They are waiting to welcome me when I have completed my assignment here on earth.
Several years ago I lost over 80 lbs! It's changed my life. All the things I thought I was "too fat" to do, suddenly became a large part of what I do! Now, as a Health Coach, I support other people who are also on their weight loss journey. You can read a more detailed story at behealthyquick.com.
In March, 2013, I was called as my ward Relief Society President. That is mostly awesome, but sometimes VERY challenging. I am blessed with wonderful counselors; I am constantly aware of the amazing amounts of service that others give; I am watched over and loved by my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. Again, I am so blessed!
That's the very brief History of Me.
Here is a highlight list of some awesome things I love to do. (I think that most of the posts are going to be centered around these things.) They are not in any particular order.
Walking.
Hiking.
Quilting.
Sewing. (yes, this is different from quilting)
Crafts - almost any kind.
Shopping.
Eating out.
Baking.
Reading.
Traveling.
Visiting with friends.
Spending time with family.
...I'm sure there are more, but that's a good start to this list...
Again, welcome to my blog!
